CHARTERS DO’S
Bring your own sunscreen, Seasickness remedies, coolers, hand towels and extra clothing. Find out before hand how the catch will be divided amongst the anglers. Some boats divide the catch equally no matter who caught what. Help out the deckhand/mate. A happy Deckhand will enable everyone to have a good time. Treat the boat like your own home. Write the captain a brief thank you note after the trip. You’d be surprised how many of them appreciate this little nicety.
CHARTERS DONT’S
Wear shoes with hard or black soles, which leave scuff marks on the deck. Throw trash, Cigarette butts or bait on the deck. Tell the captain how to fish Get upset if the captain moves of a good spot. This is done to keep a certain wreck or reef from being over fished. Expect the captain to let you sleep on the boat the night before the trip.
